Ayatollah Sayyid Zia Mortazavi is a teacher of advanced (kharij) jurisprudence and its principles at the Qom Seminary and a researcher in jurisprudence and law. He teaches the higher levels of the seminary curriculum and studied advanced jurisprudence and its principles under the grand ayatollahs Shobeiri Zanjani, Tabrizi, Javadi Amoli, Saanei and Hossein-Ali Montazeri. He is an associate professor at the Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy and has written many books (in Persian and Arabic) and peer-reviewed articles on jurisprudence, law, Islamic history and Islamic thought.
